Skopje, 11 April 2024 (MIA) – VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski has sent a public message to the Albanian opposition parties in North Macedonia proposing formation of a coalition, however no response has been received yet.
Asked to comment the proposal of Bujar Osmani, the foreign minister and DUI’s presidential candidate, on reaching a joint consensus over the constitutional changes, Mickoski responded: “Osmani has missed the chance for such consensus after VMRO-DPMNE and me personally at a news conference had offered to be part of the process, which is being concluded away from the public’s eyes.”
“If he’d really wanted a political and popular consensus, he’d had the chance as a foreign minister. Unfortunately, he acted in an irresponsible manner making a historic mistake by first lying to his people, and secondly by signing the second protocol, in which he had allowed the work of the Commission, tasked with establishing historical facts, to become the criterion for Macedonia to make progress in its EU accession process,” Mickoski said after a meeting Thursday with MASIT’s managing board.
