VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski's statement after voting

VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski's statement after voting

Skopje, 8 May 2024 (MIA) - VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said on Wednesday that massive turnout is a vote and a decision for the future of our families and the future of our homeland.

"I have three messages. The first message is to call on the citizens of Macedonia to come out and vote en masse. Because only in this way can we decide on our common future. These are parliamentary and presidential elections, massive turnout is a vote and a decision for the future of our families and the future of our homeland. My second message is that during the campaign, I warned of two possible scenarios that we see today are a reality. The first scenario is of that group of politicians who have the word "European" in their name, but they are far from "European". Unfortunately, they are still stuck in the past, they are still stuck in the 18th century, and the citizens will punish these retrograde and defensive policies. I am convinced that even Europe itself is ashamed of these people," said Mickoski.

His third message was to the journalists who, he said, were consistent during the campaign and reported objectively.

In response to a reporter's question on what his attitude towards Kosovo would be if he became prime minister, he noted it was the VMRO-DPMNE led government that recognized Kosovo's independence.

"Macedonia's position towards Kosovo is very clear. I don't know if in Kosovo you have the information that the VMRO-DPMNE government recognized Kosovo's independence or you still believe the lies of Artan Grubi and Ali Ahmeti," Mickoski said.
