Presidential elections will see out-of-country voting of 2,571 Macedonian nationals in 31 DCOs

Skopje, 27 March 2024 (MIA) - Out-of-country voting in the 2024 presidential elections, based on the accepted 2,571 applications of Macedonian nationals, will be conducted in 31 diplomatic and consular offices (DCOs) of North Macedonia abroad.
At its session on Wednesday, the State Election Commission (SEC) said voting will take place in Abu Dhabi where 26 Macedonian nationals are registered to vote, in Belgrade - 31, Berlin - 260, Bern - 186, Bonn - 164, Brussels - 93, Washington - 34, Venice - 79, Vienna - 123, Detroit - 34, Zagreb - 87, Canberra - 31, Copenhagen - 74, London - 87, Ljubljana - 332, Munich - 166, Melbourne - 64, New York - 85, Oslo - 41, Paris - 44, Prague - 52, Rome - 30, Stockholm - 85, Toronto - 117, The Hague - 65, Chicago - 88, Ankara - 18, Warsaw - 23, Madrid - 18, Beijing - 12 and Sofia - 22.
The rest of the Macedonian nationals living abroad can exercise their right to vote in the polling stations in the country.
According to the SEC, 2,904 Macedonian nationals abroad have applied within the deadline, and 2,641 fulfilled the legal requirements. Voting will not be conducted where less than 10 polling stations are registered, i.e. in 20 DCOs.
At its Wednesday's session, the SEC also adopted a guide for storage and destruction of data in biometric identification devices, according to which data should be deleted thirty days after the announcement of the final election results.
