Skopje, 31 October 2024 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova received Thursday the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark, Pernille Dahler Kardel, based in Belgrade.
At the handover ceremony, President Siljnanovska Davkova said that since 1993, the two countries have been continuously building friendly and partner ties, reflected through a high level of political dialogue and mutual cooperation, and highlighted the unused potential and room for further development, especially in economy and trade, the President's Office said in a press release.
Siljanovska Davkova recalled Denmark's involvement in critical moments in Macedonian history, starting from the proclamation of independence and contribution of former Danish Foreign Minister Uffe Ellemann-Jensen, including Denmark being one of the first countries to ratify the country's NATO accession protocol.
"Allow me to express my immense gratitude for the Kingdom of Demnark’s support for our Euro-integration process. I expect support to continue in the same tempo during your chairmanship with the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2025," the President noted.
Ambassador Dahler Kardel said it was a great honor to hand over credentials as the new Ambassador for the Kingdom of Denmark, adding that she will monitor our path to EU membership with great interest.
President Siljanovska Davkova wished the ambassador success in her diplomatic mission. ssh/ba/
