Sofia, 17 June 2022 (MIA) - Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov has told the Bulgarian National Television (BNT) that he will not ake a decision without the country’s parliament, MIA reports from Sofia.
“As PM, I will not take any decision unless it is taken by the parliament. The only thing I will say at the table alongside the European leaders is that I will not change the Bulgarian position if there is no decision by the parliament,” said Petkov.
He added that the French proposal was sent directly to the parliament and from what he has heard, it will include guarantees for Bulgarians in the Republic of North Macedonia, both with regards to anti-discrimination and their incorporation in the country’s constitution.
“I will not make any decision by myself. I will follow the will of the Bulgarian parliament,” said Petkov.
