Government approves procurement of diabetes supplies, devices for 2025-27

Skopje, 13 May 2025 (MIA) — The government at its Tuesday session approved the procurement of insulin, glucagon, insulin syringes, blood glucose test strips, insulin pumps and the supplies they require as well as continuous glucose monitors to meet the projected needs of people living with diabetes nationwide between April 2025 and April 2027, according to an official press release.

 

The total cost of the diabetes supplies and devices is Mden 2.32 billion, including VAT. Mden 1.85 billion will be spent on insulin therapy and Mden 464.45 million on insulin syringes, blood glucose test strips, insulin pumps and their related components as well as continuous glucose monitors.

 

The procurement will be funded through a public health program named "A Program for Providing Insulin, Glucagon, Insulin Syringes, Blood Glucose Test Strips, Insulin Pumps and Their Supplies and Continuous Glucose Monitors."
