Skopje, 13 May 2025 (MIA) - There will be no reshuffle only a change of ministers, the Government has told MIA after yesterday's statement of Health Minister Arben Taravari that his party Alliance of Albanians (AA) would leave the executive.
AA holds two departments in the Government - Health and Deputy PM for Good Governance in Arben Fetai. In the Parliament, the AA bloc led by Taravari has six seats.
There are still unknowns over how the AA-nominated ministers will be replaced, whether by resignation or dismissal, or how many of the MPs will stick with Taravari or break ranks.
The Government has not confirmed reports that VMRO-DPMNE and Vlen would swap departments, as suggested yesterday by one of Vlen's leaders Bilal Kasami. On the MPs, he said the number of those migrating to the ruling majority would rise.
"I can guarantee that we are already in serious talks with several lawmakers from the Albanian opposition and members of other communities who are part of the European Front," said Kasami.
MIA learns that Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski will not meet with Taravari after his public statement that AA would go into opposition.
Ruling party VMRO-DPMNE's executive committee is set to convene on Tuesday evening to discuss AA's departure from the government coalition.
