Mickoski: Diesel expected to drop by 2.5 denars, gasoline by 1.5
- The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) is expected at the next session to make a decision on reducing diesel price by 2.5 denars and the price of gasoline Eurosuper 95 and Eurosuper 98 by 1.5 denars, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski announced Saturday. We, he noted, are still a country having the lowest energy prices and the only one that reduces oil and oil derivatives prices this week.
Skopje, 11 April 2026 (MIA) – The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) is expected at the next session to make a decision on reducing diesel price by 2.5 denars and the price of gasoline Eurosuper 95 and Eurosuper 98 by 1.5 denars, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski announced Saturday.
We, he noted, are still a country having the lowest energy prices and the only one that reduces oil and oil derivatives prices this week.
The maximum Eurosuper 95 price will be 82 denars per liter, 84 denars for Eurosuper 98, and 95.5 denars for diesel, excluding the OKTA discounts of 2 denars for gasoline and 3 denars for diesel, Mickoski told a news conference.
The ERC’s decision, he said, is based on the legal analysis of the trends of oil and oil derivatives prices on the stock exchanges in the past week.
“The measures reducing VAT from 18 to 10 percent and the decision to align excise duties remain in force next week. We will continue to be a country that provides all quantities of oil and oil derivatives to citizens and businesses in a timely and reliable manner,” said Mickoski.
The country has sufficient quantities to cushion the pressure from the neighbourhood, according to the prime minister.
“There are days when consumption has increased by 30 percent compared to the average in the past and we reach up to 2 million litres per day, which is an absolute record. The greatest pressure is recorded on the northern, western and southern borders, but we have sufficient quantities at the gas stations for the citizens of our neighbouring countries and we can ensure that they receive fuel from the gas stations in those border municipalities,” Mickoski stated.
We have yet again, he stressed, confirmed the successfulness of our government policy implemented to tackle this epic energy crisis, much greater than the two crises in the 1970s and the 2022 crisis.
“Under our policies, we have the cheapest gasoline and diesel. Diesel fuel in our country is 1.55 euro cents per litre, in neighbouring Serbia it is from 1.85 to 1.99, in Croatia it ranges from 1.85 to 2.20, in Greece and Albania between 2 and 2.2 euros depending on which gas station is used,” Mickoski said.
