Performative walking tour "Don't stare so romantically" in Skopje
- A performative walking tour entitled "Don't Stare So Romantically", as part of the project "The City is a Public - part #1", will take place in Skopje on Saturday. Skopje, 7 December 2024 (MIA) - A performative walking tour entitled "Don't Stare So Romantically", as part of the project "The City is a Public - part #1", will take place in Skopje on Saturday. The tour lasts six hours (from 12 to 6 pm), with a starting point at the "Goce Delchev" student dormitory. This performative [walking] essay in four acts will be carried out by artist and architects Filip Jovanovski.
Act 1 of the performative walking tour, "A building without doors", starts at the "Goce Delchev" student dormitory at noon. Act 2, "Floating Cinema", starts at 1:30 pm with a public performative lunch with Floating University at the Railway Residential Building and the Faculty of Architecture, “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University - Skopje. Act 3, entitled "Rejection of Modernism", starts at 3 pm, while Act 4, entitled "In the roaring waters, I hear the voices of dead friends", will wrap up the tour at the Albanian National Theatre in Skopje.
The curator of the performance is Vladimir Janchevski, with curatorial support by Sofia Grigoriadou, and actress/performer Martina Danilovska.
The performative walking tour is part of a three-day event "The City as a Stage: Floating University", taking place December 5-7.
Day one of the event included a public lecture by Kristin Laz and David Nil Morsi of the "Floating University", Berlin, which was held at the amphitheatre of the Faculty of Architecture in Skopje.
A full-day workshop with students, entitled "Future of the Cinema in the Railway Building" was held on Friday.
The project is part of the programs of the Faculty of Things That Can't Be Learned - FRU, and is supported by several institutions and organizations, including the Goethe-Institut Skopje and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia.
