Skopje, 11 October 2022 (MIA) - The October 11 state awards were presented Tuesday at a ceremony in Parliament marking National Uprising Day (October 11). Neuropsychiatrist Metodi Chepreganov was presented with the lifetime achievement award in the field of science and education, while poetess Lindita Ahmeti, writer Tomislav Osmanli and artist Micko Jankulovski were this year’s recipients of the lifetime achievement award in the field of culture and art. Addressing the ceremony, Xhevdet Hajredini, head of the board for the October 11 state award, called on the present and all future governments to award more funds to finance science, culture and art. Thanking on behalf of this year's recipients, artist Micko Jankulovski said today, people are living in a reality that has been inherited by our predecessors, which will be later passed on to coming generations as social and cultural heritage. Established in 1995, the October 11 state award is considered the highest lifetime achievement award in the field of science, art, economy and other areas of public interest.
