Skopje, 18 May 2025 (MIA) – VMRO-DPMNE's Women's Union is "the bulwark of the women's fight, force and leadership in Macedonia," union leader Zhaklina Peshevska said Saturday at the union's 20th annual conference held under the motto "Women Thunderous for Macedonia" at Skopje's City Park.

At the event dedicated to the 20 years of the union's fight for women's rights and representation in politics and society, Peshevska said perseverance was a key driver of political and social change.

She said VMRO-DPMNE women during 2024 had engaged in over 2,000 activities, two thirds of them for charity.

"I can proudly say that through our union we have been building bridges, cooperating with international organizations and showing that the Macedonian woman has a lot to say," Peshevska said.

In her speech, the VMRO-DPMNE Women's Union leader said they were also fighting for a fair society that would respect women not only because of their gender but also because of their labor.

Prime Minister and VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski will also address the gathering. mr/
