Mickoski for FAZ: Gruevski is in secret communication with government

Skopje, 19 September 2023 (MIA) – Gruevski is in secret communication with the government, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski told the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ).
Mickoski, as Deutsche Welle reports, stated "in order to pass constitutional changes, the government is preparing dirty deals."
According to Mickoski, the government believes that it can divide the opposition party, but, as he pointed out, it will not succeed.
“We have done everything for our European perspective. But we are constantly being asked new requests,” Mickoski said, noting that if his proposal for delayed implementation of constitutional amendments is not accepted, then there will be no changes to the Constitution.
He reiterated that they have nothing against the Bulgarians being listed in the Preamble of our Constitution and asked "who guarantees us that this is the last request from Bulgaria?.”
According to Mickoski, Bulgaria's demands are much more extreme than Greece's.
“Such issues are not only demanded by the radical right-wing Bulgarians. The idea of imposing identity political regulations on North Macedonia reaches even the middle of Bulgarian society. The Bulgarian demands to North Macedonia are more extreme than the Greek ones ever were. Bulgarian policy goes so far as to deny Macedonians their identity,” Mickoski said.
MIA asked VMRO-DPMNE for an opinion on Mickoski's claims, and they said that they have no additional comment and that his views have already been presented to this newspaper.
