Skopje, 6 October 2022 (MIA) – The Government is considering options on how to provide the producers of basic food products with a lower regulated price in order to reduce the final prices of the end products, as well as the possibility to help public utility enterprises, says Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi. Minister Bekteshi told Sitel TV that Finance Minister Fatmir Besimi will most likely present the measures aimed at providing support to the vulnerable groups of citizens, by the end of this week or the beginning of next. “The measures are targeted, focused on the vulnerable groups of citizens. Yesterday at the Economic Council we had a detailed discussion to make sure that the Budget is not overburdened. We said that schools will be moved to the regulated market and that hospitals will be supported by Power Plants of North Macedonia (ESM). Analyses are currently being done regarding the public utility enterprises and they are almost done. The methodology is being designed and we are looking for ways to help them, but we will find a mechanism,” said the Minister. ad/ik/
