Skopje, 20 June 2024 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi met Thursday with Kosovo's Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca, concurring that the two countries have excellent mutual cooperation and it is important to maintain and deepen such trend of good relations in the coming period.   

Participants in the meeting pointed out that since there are no mutual political unresolved issues between the two countries, focus should be placed on infrastructure projects, strengthening economic and trade cooperation, as well as cooperation in the fields of education, culture and healthcare, with the aim of facilitating communication and further bringing people together, the Parliament said in a press release.

Gashi welcomed Konjufca, noting that the two countries have excellent mutual cooperation, since the country recognized Kosovo's independence. Konjufca expressed satisfaction with the country's NATO membership, expressing hope for sooner European Union accession. 

"Konjufca congratulated Gashi on his new post as Parliament Speaker, following the successful elections which were a test for the democracy, seriousness and maturity of the state. Kosovo sees a good partner and a correct neighbour in our country, from whom it receives continuous support over the years," reads the press release. 

The interlocutors agreed that European integration is a common goal, both countries share the same framework of values ​​and orientations.
