Forest movement ban lifted, wildfire prevention controls to tighten
Skopje, 24 August 2021 (MIA) – The government decided at its Tuesday session to lift the forest movement ban. In order to prevent wildfires, the Interior Ministry and the forest police have been tasked with tightening controls, the government said in a press release. “Based on recommendations issued by the Main Crisis HQ, the government decided to lift the forest movement ban and tasked the Interior Ministry and the forest police within the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy to introduce tighter controls aimed at  preventing wildfires,” the press release read. The forest movement ban entered into force on August 3.
