Skopje, 10 August 2021 (MIA) – The wildfires in Pehchevo/Berovo region are brought under control. Fire engulfs three houses in the village of Pobozje, in Churcher-Sandevo municipality near Skopje and wildfires are still active in Kumanovo and Prilep, Marija Milkova, assistant manager of the Crisis Management Center (CMC) Operations and Coordination Sector said on Tuesday afternoon. She also added that the wildfires in Razlovci village in Delchevo region and in German village in Kriva Palanka have been brough under control. As she noted, by 4 pm, the wildfires in Pehchevo/Berovo region are brought under control. The Territorial Firefighting Unit crews are there, as well as police and Army representatives, and local residents are monitoring the situation so that the fire doesn’t start back up again during the night. According to Milkova, the wildfire in Razlovci village in Delchevo region is completely brought under control. However, Territorial Firefighting Unit crews, local residents and the Army are still there to monitor the situation. The airplane of the Romanian Military Airforce made several flights over the area of Saraj near the villages Raovikj and Bukovikj aimed at putting out the fire, which is still active. At 2.45 pm, Milkova said, the fire spread to the ridge of the Jasen hunting ground, and Army members, Territorial Firefighting Unit crews, local residents are on the ground fighting the blaze. Fire engulfs three houses in the village of Pobozje, in Churcher Sandevo municipality in Skopje and firefighting brigade from the City of Skopje is putting out the fire. The fire in the Petrovec village Divlje is still active, but brought under control. The fire is being monitored, there are representatives from Karadjica Forest Services, soldiers and units of the Territorial Firefighting Brigade on site, Milkova said. The fire in Krstec village, Prilep, is still active and representatives of Prilep Forest Services, and of Protection and Rescue Directorate are on the site. Also, the wildfire in Agino Selo, which broke out around 12.30 pm, is still burning. According to Milkova, the representatives of the Firefighting Brigade from Kumanovo, firefighting brigade from the City of Skopje, and local residents are on site battling the fire. The wildfire in Slatina village, near Makedonski Brod reignited at 3 pm. The representatives of the Firefighting Brigade from Makedonski Brod, police and local residents are on the site. At the moment, Makedonski Brod - Samokov road is closed to traffic. Low-intensity fire is active in Sredorek village, in Prilep, which is under control and hopefully will be localized soon, Milkova added.
