Skopje, 21 May 2025 (MIA) - Strategic partnerships will be highly relevant in the coming period, and we must look for solutions for development, President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova said Wednesday quizzed about the country’s strategic partnership agreement with the United Kingdom expected to be signed Thursday in London.

The President said the country has had a lot of learned lessons and challenges to know to be cautious when reaching agreements as part of the strategic partnership.

“The strategic partnerships will be highly relevant in the coming period, and we must look for solutions for development, and the strategic partnership is in that context. I would like to see us establish a strategic partnership with some other countries as well, such as Azerbaijan and the rest. We can’t jump straight to renewable sources of energy without a transition tied to gas. Of course, we have learned many lessons and challenges to know to be cautious about how we act when reaching agreements as part of the strategic partnership,” Siljanovska-Davkova underlined.
