Skopje, 1 October 2022 (MIA) — European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen welcomed "the positive momentum between Bulgaria and North Macedonia" after her meeting with President Stevo Pendarovski and Bulgarian President Rumen Radev in Sofia. "It led to the start of the accession negotiations process for North Macedonia," the EC president wrote on Twitter. "Now it can also lead to good cooperation across the board for the benefit of the Bulgarian and Macedonian people, for example on energy," she wrote, posting a video of her meeting with the two presidents. mr/
