Bitola, 7 July 2023 (MIA) - All public and private sector employees deserve decent wages with increased productivity and efficiency for their job positions, Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Fatmir Bytyqi, said on Friday.

Deputy PM Bytyqi, who visited the Cermat factory in Bitola on Friday, said he expects an agreement on the General Collective Agreement to be reached next week.

"We spoke with the unions, and I do not want to bid on percentages while we are negotiating. I maintain the view that all public and private sector employees deserve decent wages with increased productivity and efficiency for their job positions. Public sector employees deserve decent wages. Through dialogue, of course, they will receive a certain increase we negotiated about. They will receive new methodology for wages, once and for all so that we won't ever have negotiations and blackmail regardless of this or any other future government, we will probably reach an agreement for the annual leave allowance, which will be a part of the General Collective Agreement.  My expectations are that next week we will reach an agreement on the General Collective Agreement and all defined points, and it is going to be an incentive for all in the public sector to serve the citizens, as well as the private companies which help our country's development," Bytyqi said. ssh/nn/
