Skopje, 16 March 2023 (MIA) - European Commission Vice-President and High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, and European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi arrived late Thursday in Skopje, welcomed at the airport by Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj.

 

"I was honored to welcome North Macedonia's great friends, European Commission Vice-President and High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, and European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi. The political support provided to the countries of the Western Balkans should be used so that we guarantee the stability, peace and European perspective of the region," Deputy PM Marichikj wrote in a Facebook post.

 

Friday's session of the Stabilization and Association Council, he adds, will represent an opportunity to discuss status of reforms, progress in Euro-integration process and bilateral relations arising from the Stabilization and Association Agreement.

 

"I wish them a successful stay and may they leave our country, which serves as a model for overcoming disputes peacefully and through diplomacy, with good news for the region," says Marichikj.
