Skopje, 19 October 2023 (MIA) - Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Jovanka Trenchevska, held a meeting with Moldovan Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Alexei Buzu, in Geneva on Thursday.  

Talks focused on the EU integration path ahead of the two countries, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy said in a press release. 

Moldova's Minister pointed to the need for more intensive cooperation and transfer of experience in preparation for the screening meetings, which are part of the EU negotiations, as well as aligning legislation, and making use of the potentials of all employees in the ministries in the process of the European negotiations.

"Participants in the meeting stressed that North Macedonia's experience in the preparation for joining the European Union is of particular importance for Moldova. Particularly in terms of the use of IPA funds and the strong bilateral cooperation with the countries in the region,"reads the press release. 

Interlocutors agreed on formal communication in the coming period, especially in the areas of labor market activation, youth guarantee, child protection, as well as digitization of the social protection system, as an ultimate priority of the two countries.

Trenchevska and Buzu pointed out that the European path is a challenge and an imperative that leads to daily improvement of both countries.
