Rare exhibition of manuscripts and early printed books from Macedonia’s national library opens for first time in the country

Skopje, 24 May 2025 (MIA) – An exclusive exhibition featuring manuscripts and early printed books from the National Library of Macedonia, previously never exhibited in the country, has opened. Today we see original manuscripts from the 13th, 14th, and 16th centuries, along with Gjorgji Pulevski’s trilingual dictionary marking its 150th anniversary this year, and Krste Petkov Misirkov’s book “On Macedonian Matters,” published in 1903.

The works are on display at St. Sophia Church, in Ohrid, the site of the government’s official celebration of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Day, where Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, the Rector of Ss. Cyril and Methodius University and head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, HH Stefan, will deliver speeches.
