Mucunski, Haddad meet in Paris for talks on faster, merit-based EU integration

Paris, 1 April 2026 (MIA) — Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski met Wednesday with France's Minister Delegate for European Affairs Benjamin Haddad for talks on strengthening bilateral ties, deepening political dialogue and boosting economic cooperation as well as the country's European Union integration process.

During the meeting, Mucunski stressed that joining the EU remains the government's top priority.

He also emphasized the government's strong commitment to implementing EU reforms. "Together with the Growth Plan, they represent key processes for the Western Balkan countries' progress toward the EU," he said in a Facebook post after the meeting.

The two government ministers agreed that the EU integration process should move faster and be based on the individual merits of each country, Mucunski said.

"We also highlighted our role as a factor of regional security and stability and we discussed current regional, European and global issues as well," he added. mr/
