Toshkovski: MoI remains committed to cooperation in fight against migrant smuggling

Skopje, 22 March 2024 (MIA) – Our country is systemically involved in the process of finding a solution within the frameworks of the European global approach for dealing with regular and irregular migrations, and we remain committed to joint cooperation in the fight against migrant smuggling, said Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski in his address at the ministerial meeting of the Brdo Process held in Kranj, Slovenia, according to a press release from the Interior Ministry on Friday.

The Ministry also said Toshkovski held a meeting with his Slovenian counterpart, Boštjan Poklukar, on the sidelines of the conference, during which they discussed topics of mutual interest for the two countries.

“I asked Minister Poklukar that the cooperation in terms of the training provided to the helicopter units continue, and at the same time I highlighted the need to intensify the procedures for mutual recognition of driving licenses. At the end, I expressed my gratitude over Slovenia’s understanding regarding the issue with travel documents, as well as the support they provide on our path to full-fledged membership within the European Union,” Toshkovski stressed.
