Siljanovska-Davkova: Gov’t wasting energy on insults and negations instead of presenting ideas and projects

Siljanovska-Davkova: Gov’t wasting energy on insults and negations instead of presenting ideas and projects

Skopje, 4 March 2024 (MIA) – In an interview for TV Alfa on Monday evening, VMRO-DPMNE’s presidential candidate Gordana Siljanovska Davkova said the Government had inflicted great harm on the country with the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Good Neighborliness with Bulgaria, citing it as one of the reasons why she decided to run for president.

“It turned out that people who were unable to anticipate the processes, relations and events, entered politics or found themselves in certain positions. These people are amateurs. They thought that if we make this concession, the country’s path to the EU would open up immediately and there would be no issues. And it’s scary that they still believe they’re on the right path,” said Siljanovska-Davkova.

VMRO-DPMNE’s candidate accused the ruling parties of wasting its energy on insults and negations instead of presenting ideas, projects or plans. She said she would like to talk with the candidates about projects and let the citizens decide and vote.

Siljanovska-Davkova said she has a “proposed exit solution” to all issues related to the authorizations of the president.

“This is the most important thing we need to do – to identify the problems and overcome them. Sometimes there’s not even a need for constitutional amendments, but there is a need of using a veto, of addresses, and the best candidates for the Judicial Council, and the best candidates for the Constitutional Court, the best Chief of the General Staff of the Army, and various bodies that will unite, including the diaspora. We haven’t seen any of these so far,” said VMRO-DPMNE’s presidential candidate.
