Public Security Bureau head Tasevski takes part in meeting of police chiefs within Brdo Process in Slovenia
Skopje, 18 November 2022 (MIA) – Public Security Bureau director Sasho Tasevski is taking part in a meeting of police chiefs within the Brdo Process, held in Portorož, Slovenia, on Thursday and Friday.   Participants in the meeting underlined that strengthening cooperation of the EU countries with Western Balkan countries and European agencies, including Europol and Frontex, is of crucial importance given the emergence of new migration routes and the situation with illegal migration and migrant smuggling, the Ministry of Interior said in a press release.   Tasevski pointed out that the Ministry of Interior fully supports and actively participates in initiatives within the Brdo Process, adding that only through constant strengthening of joint operational cooperation and faster and more efficient exchange of information at a bilateral and multilateral level can stability and security of the countries and citizens be ensured.   During his working visit to Portorož, Tasevski also held bilateral meetings with Slovenia’s Interior Minister Tatjana Bobnar and with Slovenian Police Acting Director General Boštjan Lindav, for talks on the situation with migration in the Western Balkans and the region. г  “Slovenia’s Interior Minister expressed readiness and support for the Western Balkan countries on the EU path and stressed the importance of cooperation between countries within the Brdo Process, noting that new modes of smuggling require the creation of new initiatives to deal with them,” reads the press release.   Director General of the Slovenian Police, Lindav, told the meeting with Tasevski that the establishment of national operational contact points and a network within the Brdo Process will be of great importance for strengthening cooperation at the inter-institutional level and achieving concrete results in the fight against migrant smugglers.
