PPO to open case on NSA director if SCPC fails to investigate reports within reasonable time

PPO to open case on NSA director if SCPC fails to investigate reports within reasonable time

Skopje, 29 October 2024 (MIA) - The State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) is currently looking into reports regarding the new National Security Agency (NSA) director. If the reports are not investigated within reasonable time, the Public Prosecutor's Office (PPO) will open a case, the PPO has told MIA.

Last week, the SCPC opened a case over the appointment of Bojan Hristovski as NSA director after the Commission received an anonymous submission claiming that he did not meet the job requirements.

Hristovski's appointment to the post has resulted in a public outcry, with the opposition SDSM calling on the PPO to open a case.

"Hristovski does not hold an internationally recognized English language certificate but used a falsified document, which is a violation of the law and a crime. We call on the PPO to open a case in line with its jurisdiction. We urge for a transparent investigation that will accurately and impartially establish who is responsible for this scandal," said SDSM.
