Perinski: 80 municipalities submit 357 applications to infrastructure project call

Skopje, 13 September 2024 (MIA) – A total of 80 municipalities have applied to the Government's public call for financing of infrastructure projects in municipalities across the country with money secured from the state Budget. A total of 357 applications have been submitted, which means that each municipality has applied with several projects, Minister of Local Self-Government Zlatko Perinski said Friday.

"Our expectations were fully met. In the first phase, we will support the municipalities with close to EUR 100 million. As of next year, another EUR 250 million will be available, through a new call that is planned. Now is the ministries turn. Municipalities should submit within 10 days the complete project documentation to the relevant ministries pertaining to the projects, which will then evaluate the projects. The evaluation is expected to be completed within a period of no longer than 10 days, after which the relevant ministries should prepare a draft decision on projects that will be financed and submit it for adoption at a government session," Perinski told Friday's press conference.

He noted that he expects the entire procedure to be completed by the end of the month.
