Over 30 projects, estimated at €15 million, completed as part of TAV program
Strumica, 7 September 2022 (MIA) - So far, 36 infrastructure projects implemented in the municipalities through the TAV program, estimated at EUR 15 million, have been completed, Deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Bytyqi said Wednesday in Strumica, where he oversaw works ongoing to regulate the St. Ilija water canal toward the Vodochnica river mouth in Strumica.
The TAV program provided 86.700.000 denars to reconstruct 2,300 meters of the canal for flood regulation.
The project is one of the many implemented in 75 municipalities in the country, amounting to EUR 49.7 million, as part of the TAV program. A year ago, 94 contracts for infrastructural projects in all planning regions and in the municipalities were signed.
Bytyqi said that all ongoing projects will be completed by the end of 2023.
"Investing in improved and sustainable infrastructure is necessary to meet the developing economic goal we are all focused on. This year, the government has been working on establishing a unit to monitor capital infrastructure projects to make sure they are completed on time," said the Deputy PM.
TAV Macedonia General Manager Metin Batak reiterated that TAV program projects will be completed on time.
"The total investment in 94 valid projects is EUR 49.7 million. Being in year two of the financing of projects, 36 have been fully completed and the rest are planned by the end of 2023," he said.
