Brussels, 15 March 2023 (MIA) – We aim to fully digitize tolls in the country by the time we join the EU, said Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj in Brussels on Wednesday.
“We aim to harmonize with this policy by the time we join, which means having complete digitization. This does not mean that there will be no employees but that the manner in which the toll payments are carried out will be digitized,” said Marichikj.
He emphasized it is important for the network to be fully functional and for tolls to be paid as in other countries, where they are usually charged upon entry into the country and remain valid for the entire country.
“This does not mean that we are abolishing tolls or laying off workers. Just the way of paying is being modernized, so that it can be smooth and avoid causing traffic jams," added Marichikj in Brussels, where he is participating in the explanatory screening meeting on Cluster 4 – Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity. ad/ik/
