Skopje, 23 September 2024 (MIA) - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Aleksandar Nikoloski, met Monday with the newly appointed Spanish Ambassador, Rafael Soriano Ortiz.

During the meeting, Nikoloski reaffirmed the strong bilateral relations with Spain, highlighting the support that Spain offers to the country's EU integration process, the Ministry of Transport said in a press release.

A special focus of the meeting was on the possibility of establishing new airline routes between the two countries. Nikoloski informed Ambassador Soriano Ortiz about the conditions of the already announced public call for financial support for the introduction of new destinations to/from Skopje International Airport and St. Apostle Paul Airport in Ohrid.

The Minister also updated the Ambassador on the investment program related to infrastructure, according to the press release.

Nikoloski highlighted that Macedonia offers competitive investment conditions, inviting interested Spanish companies to invest in the country.

At the meeting, opinions and views were exchanged on current political and economic issues in the country and the region. The Minister extended his gratitude for the existing partnership, and both sides agreed on intensifying this cooperation between Macedonia and Spain.
