Murtezani – Drexler: Democracy and rule of law essential for country

Skopje, 19 July 2024 (MIA) - Minister of European Affairs Orhan Murtezani held a meeting Friday with the German Ambassador to North Macedonia, Petra Drexler, during which they discussed the bilateral relations and the overall and continued German support for the country, the Ministry said in a press release.
The meeting focused on topics related to the European integrations of the country, the bilateral relations, the implementation of the Growth Plan and the reform agenda which are important for the encouragement of reforms and economic development in the country, with the goal of accelerating the socio-economic convergence of the region with the European Union.
“At the meeting, Minister Murtezani voiced his belief that the continued German support for our European path, democracy, rule of law, good governance, economic development, environment and the mitigation of climate change are of essential importance for our country. Interlocutors also touched upon the cooperation within the EU-funded Twinning Projects, emphasizing that 11 Twining Projects in various areas have been successfully realized,” the Ministry of European Affairs said.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Murtezani voiced sincere gratitude for the overall political and economic assistance that Germany has provided to the Republic of North Macedonia.
