Skopje, 24 July 2024 (MIA) - Intensification of cooperation with the European Union in the fields of security and defense were in the focus of Wednesday's meeting of Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski and EU Ambassador David Geer.

Ambassador Geer thanked Minister Misajlovski for the country's ranking among the top five states in global terms according to Ukraine donations per capita, the Ministry of Defense said in a press release.

Interlocutors stressed the intensified cooperation with the EU in the fields of security and defense, and the possibility of enhancing collaboration regarding reforms in the crisis management system. Misajlovski thanked the EU for the swift response by the Civil Protection Mechanism over the wildfires in the country.

In addition, the Defense Minister briefed the EU Ambassador over the signing of a Letter of Intent on setting up a harmonized corridor on military mobility within the Pan-European Corridor 8 at the recent NATO Summit in Washington, reads the press release.
