Ministry of Labor and Social Policy signs cooperation memo with Polish Ministry of Family and Social Policy

Skopje, 30 July 2022 (MIA) – During a visit to Poland, Minister of Labor and Social Policy Jovanka Trenchevska and Polish Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Malag signed a memorandum of cooperation.
Trenchevska and Malag discussed on a number of topics, with a focus on social economy. The Polish minister said the country has a tradition of solidarity, whereas the EU accession and adoption of the specific regulations has resulted in exceptional progress, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy said in a press release.
Minister Trenchevska referred to the preparations for a new law on social entrepreneurship.
“In North Macedonia, social services represent a potential for development of social entrepreneurship and job creation for the most vulnerable groups,” said Trenchevska.
Interlocutors also discussed the support to persons with disabilities, with both sides highlighting the de-institutionalization efforts, creation of social services and support for these persons.
In addition, discussions tackled the topics of child protection, foster families and elimination of domestic violence and violence against women.
Trenchevska and Malag agreed on continued cooperation, especially in the field of social entrepreneurship and implementation of the cooperation memorandum, reads the press release.
