Skopje, 7 February 2025 (MIA) – Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, Sanja Bozhinovska, held Friday a working meeting with the representatives of the World Bank (WB) to discuss financing and cooperation in the field of energy efficiency.
According to the Ministry, the meeting focused on potential World Bank funds aimed at supporting energy reforms, transitioning to renewable energy sources and improving energy efficiency in the country.
“The meeting reviewed opportunities to advance the process of establishing the Energy Efficiency Fund and its swift operationalization. The World Bank presented experiences from regional countries. The Fund will play a key role in financing and implementing energy efficiency projects, contributing to reduced energy consumption and environmental protection. Discussions also covered Component 3 of the Public Sector Energy Efficiency Project (PSEEP), which supports this initiative in North Macedonia,” reads the press release.
They also discussed opportunities for cooperation in the energy sector, where the World Bank can play an important role in improving the overall process.
“The Ministry remains committed to implementing energy sector reforms and will continue active collaboration with the World Bank to find solutions for enhancing North Macedonia’s energy sector,” the press release reads.
