Skopje, 29 June 2022 (MIA) – I think it is impossible to settle the dispute with our eastern neighbor during the French Presidency. Sofia’s demands are too extreme and I am happy that the people have managed to bring (Prime Minister Dimitar) Kovachevski to his senses, says VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski.
“A meeting of EU ambassador took place today in Brussels. There is no progress because of the extreme demands by Sofia, beyond any sound logic and European values,” Mickoski told Sitel TV.
According to him, Kovachevski rejected the French proposal because tens of thousands of citizens come out in protest and said they don’t accept the proposal.
“I am happy that the people have managed to bring Kovachevski to his senses in rejecting the French proposal, which is in 100-percent favor of our eastern neighbor,” says Mickoski.
He adds that VMRO-DPMNE has a clear position – the language issue is non-negotiable and footnotes are unacceptable.
