Mickoski: Coalition with DUI not possible because of the way they are trying to win over voters

Skopje, 4 May 2024 (MIA) - VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said Saturday that a coalition with DUI is not possible because of the way they are trying to win over voters.

"The way they try to win over voters is not because they have a political program that they offer or a way they articulate it to the voters, but it is simply coercion and a situation in which they all together articulate a position that is not in line with democracy," Mickoski told Sitel TV.

He reiterated that in the first round of the presidential elections there were instances of voting that lasted less than a minute, adding that that was impossible.

"That's why we called on the institutions and international observers to monitor the situation on the ground. And we highlighted literally all those polling stations where we had this type of deviant behavior," Mickoski pointed out.

He noted that the Prosecutor's Office should launch an investigation as regards a letter Deputy PM for Economic Affairs and SDSM MP candidate Fatmir Bytyqi had sent to businesspeople.

"Unfortunately, the Prosecutor's Office keeps silent for the time being, and they should launch an investigation. If that doesn't happen, then our thesis about an imposed and partisan prosecution is confirmed," said Mickoski.

He expects the party's presidential candidate Gordana Siljanovska Davkova to win over 500,000 votes in the presidential runoff, and VMRO-DPMNE and the coalition "Your Macedonia" to have at least 55 MP seats.
