Skopje, 7 March 2023 (MIA) — Recently appointed Minister of Health Fatmir Mexhiti held Tuesday his first meeting with representatives of healthcare unions and discussed issues they were currently facing, according to a Ministry of Health press release.

According to the release, meeting participants talked about problems in regulating the status of health workers. These talks, the release says, should continue with representatives of the Health Insurance Fund, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, in coordination with government officials.

“Labor unions are our partners and I want to thank them for their constructive cooperation,” the release quotes Minister Mexhiti as saying at the meeting.

“We share the same intentions and interests. All legal and financial options will be considered to resolve their requests,” Mexhiti said. mr/
