Skopje, 13 September 2022 (MIA) – Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj met Tuesday with Auditor General Maksim Acevski, discussing about readiness and importance of the State Audit Office joining in North Macedonia’s EU accession negotiations process.   “We have started a historic process, the negotiations are open and that’s what we should all be focused on. With the start of the negotiations, the country enters another specific phase, which requires the involvement of the widest possible circle of society,” said Marichikj, as cited in a press release of the Secretariat for European Affairs.   The Auditor General, the press release adds, stressed the readiness of the State Audit Office as a supreme audit institution which will make a significant and active contribution through its representatives in the explanatory screening with its expertise, knowledge and professionalism, particularly in terms of Chapters 5 - Public Procurement and 3.32 - Financial Control.   The Deputy PM for European Affairs highlighted the need for full commitment and engagement of all stakeholders in the process, in order to make the most of the chance given on the path to full-fledged EU membership.   “The entire process of EU accession negotiations is a state and national project, which will transform the country for the better, and the end result should be a better judicial system and legislation, better administration, better state administration,” Marichikj pointed out.
