Macedonian Philharmonic in Thessaloniki for Carmina Burana performance
- The Macedonian Philharmonic orchestra in Thessaloniki on Monday will give a performance together with the Sofia Philharmonic and the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra of Carl Orff’s cantata “Carmina Burana”.
Skopje, 30 June 2025 (MIA) – The Macedonian Philharmonic orchestra in Thessaloniki on Monday will give a performance together with the Sofia Philharmonic and the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra of Carl Orff’s cantata “Carmina Burana”.
The concert, to take place at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall at 9 pm, will be conducted by Michalis Economou from Greece. Macedonian soprano Ana Durlovski, Bulgarian baritone Ivo Jordanov and Greek countertenor Nicholas Spanos will perform as soloists.
This will be Carmina Burana’s second performance following the premiere in Sofia in February.
“Carmina Burana” is one of the greatest music pieces having the status of musical “bestseller” of the 20th century that has been captivating audiences since its premiere in 1937 in Germany, the Macedonian Philharmonic has said.
