Skopje, 20 April 2026 (MIA) — French and Macedonian dancers will share the MKC's Frosina stage Monday at 7 pm following a successful performance of traditional dances Sunday in Kriva Palanka, MIA's Kriva Palanka correspondent reports.
Titled "Cultures and Resonances," the folk dance concert is organized by the Bel Idéal Foundation as part of a cross-cultural exchange project.
The show features the French group Amitié et Danse from Sully-sur-Loire. The 11-member ensemble, led by dance professor Irina Leger Gorbacheva, will perform a variety of traditional French dances.
The October 8 national folk song and dance ensemble will perform Macedonian traditional dances, led by choreographers Aleksandar Petrovski and Aleksandar Zlatanovski.
"We are very happy we made this cultural event happen," Jadranka Bojkovska Benrejdal, president of the Bel Idéal Foundation, told MIA's correspondent after the Kriva Palanka show.
The dancers "delighted the audience with their energetic performances," she said.
Bojkovska Benrejdal said the project aims to affirm cultural ties through the universal languages of music and dance.
She said the Skopje performance will further strengthen the friendship between the two countries. mr/
