Violeta Siljan's 'The Gari Notebook' opens in Skopje

Skopje, 16 April 2026 (MIA) — Violeta Siljan's exhibition of paintings inspired by the village of Gari opens at the Cultural and Information Center at 8 pm.

Titled "The Gari Notebook," the art show explores the village's landscapes with "breathtaking artistic refinement that makes the seasons stand still," according to the exhibition review.

The collection is a fusion of colors capturing "forest sounds and the murmur of mountain springs," the review says. It evokes "the calming, clear waters under Gari's night sky filled with countless stars and a peaceful moon."

Through her works, viewers experience the village's sunrises, sunsets and dusks as well as starlight, moonlight and the scent of wild irises and thyme growing among the stone peaks, the review says.

It says that the artist has captured the intoxicating beauty of Gari, a village described as "a heaven on Earth," with warmth and sincerity, her idyllic landscapes reflecting the vastness of the universe.
