Kovachevski: Foreign Ministry receives diplomatic notes and will respond accordingly to Bulgarian note

Skopje, 28 July 2023 (MIA) – Responding to a journalist’s question whether a diplomatic note was received from Bulgaria after yesterday's events before the Shkupi-Levski football match, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the one that receives the notes and that it will respond accordingly.

“What happened yesterday was the result of hooligans and people who have nothing to do with sports on both sides. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs receives the notes and will respond accordingly to the Bulgarian note,” Kovachevski said.

According to Kovachevski, football and any other sport should be left to athletes and real fans, not to hooligans.

“If you look at the news on the news aggregators, then you will see everything except what the score of the match was. And the football players have come to play football, because of the real fans. What happened yesterday was another proof that football and any other sport should be left to the athletes and the real fans, not to hooligans who are all over the news. No one is talking about football players and match, but everyone is talking about who those hooligans are who were fighting each other and also injured a policeman, whose injury was treated thanks to the doctors, and he was discharged from hospital,” PM Kovachevski said Friday at the corner stone laying ceremony of new police station in Aerodrom.
