FM Osmani hosts diaspora reception
Skopje, 22 July 2021 (MIA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani hosted on Thursday some of North Macedonia’s citizens living abroad. At the reception, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release, the Minister thanked diaspora citizens for their contribution to painting a positive image of North Macedonia, as well as to the country’s overall economic and social development. Moreover, the FM briefed guests on the Ministry’s projects related to the diaspora, including digitalization of consular services, revival of projects offering financial assistance to the diaspora, the establishment of a parliamentary group for cooperation with the diaspora, analysis over adoption of a law on diaspora, etc. The press release added that until such a law is adopted, a white book is set to be issued, listing in detail the benefits offered to the diaspora. Minister Osmani underlined during the event commitment to setting up conditions for all Macedonians living abroad who wish to return to the country to be able to do so. He also discussed the MCard project, a recognition for renowned members of North Macedonia’s diaspora who are promoting the country abroad.
