Dimitrieska-Kochoska: Gov’t committed to reforms and investments to bring country closer to EU

Brussels, 8 November 2024 (MIA) - The Government is firmly committed to the implementation of reforms that are a part of the Reform Agenda and which represent a real roadmap for swifter convergence with the EU and raising the standard of the citizens, said Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska at a meeting Friday with representatives of the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG-NEAR).

“What is key and what the Government is paying attention to is the implementation of reforms with the goal of achieving accelerated economic growth. In addition to the Reform Agenda, which has been established together with the EC, we have many planned activities in the 2024-2028 Work Program, which will bring changes for a better future,” Dimitrieska-Kochoska said.

The Minister said one of the most significant documents that reflects the policies that will be created, the 2025 Budget, has been drafted and submitted to parliamentary procedure.

“Among other things, what we will focus on will be the realization of investments since they bring economic growth. The fight against crime and corruption will of course be a priority too,” she said.

At the Minister's meetings in Brussels it was stressed that progress in the implementation of reforms, as well as strengthening the administration’s capacities, will create opportunities for greater access to finances from EU funds and increased investments.
