Dimitrieska-Kochoska: Banks to hold final meeting on Hungarian loan funds

Skopje, 22 November 2024 (MIA) - The Ministry of Finance had meetings with each bank separately, and today the banks will have a final meeting to further specify things regarding the Hungarian loan funds, Minister of Finance Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska told journalists Friday, noting that the Government is awaiting a final answer from the banks over an interest rate that will be lower than 3.25 percent.

In terms of the repayment period, Dimitrieska-Kochoska said the majority of banks have said they would have no issues providing a 15-year repayment period with a three-year grace period.

“Regarding the interest rate, each bank had its own proposals. We asked them to reach an agreement today and to give us a final proposal that will be lower than 3.25 percent,” Dimitrieska-Kochoska said.

Asked how much businesses will have to pay the banks, the Minister said the banks would announce that when they offer the funds.

Dimitrieska-Kochoska stressed that there was no issue with the banks, noting that the only problem was the way in which the deadline would be defined.
