Bislimoski: Rational spending of energy resources a necessity
Skopje, 21 October 2022 (MIA) – The heating season has begun in line with the supply and grid rules for 60,000 consumers, while electricity supply for 611,000 households has been stable, but rational spending of energy resources is a necessity, Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) president Marko Bislimoski told a regular monthly coordination meeting of energy companies on Friday.
Bislimoski said the energy situation in Europe is complex, every country is modeling solutions based on solidarity, by helping each other and through rational spending of electricity.
“We discussed the three pillars for the situation’s management: realization of the planned increased production of electricity, namely 100-percent coverage of needs of households and small consumers, whereas excess energy to head for the industry. In addition, discussions tackled the measures to help vulnerable groups. The cold months are ahead and that is why all energy resources should be spent rationally,” said Bislimoski.
The meeting was attended by representatives of energy companies Power Plants of North Macedonia (ESM), Electricity Transmission System Operator of North Macedonia (MEPSO), EVN Home, Elektrodistribucija and National Electricity Market Operator (MEMO).
