Gostivar, 12 May 2025 (MIA) - Alliance of Albanians (AA) bloc leader Arben Taravari said Sunday that the party leadership will decide on leaving the Government coalition and that the final decision will be announced in the coming two days, adding he would personally explain the decision to Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski.

Taravari said the coalition did not provide the support "for the changes that Albanians wanted and expected".

"It seems that the Government somehow lost its way along the EU path. Regarding the state administration, there is enormous tendency to marginalize Albanians. The AA will decide on leaving the Government in the next couple of days. When everyone is running for the entrance to the Government, we are used to exiting the executive. We are leaving the Government to come back stronger, especially in the local self-government and then in the executive," said Taravari.

He added they did not want to be "the Government's puppets and the party members and activists to think we do not take their interests into account".

Taravari told TV21 that he would personally talk to Mickoski in order to explain the decision on AA's decision to run alone at the October local elections.

"Lately, PM Mickoski has been under enormous pressure and I regret to hear that he is becoming a victim of these 'schemes'. The only truth is that the party has decided to run with separate lists of candidates for council members at the local elections. This decision was not well received by the Albanian bloc in the government and they presented thousands of alibis. We do not want to be part of this environment of rumors and conspiracies anymore. These politicians-Albanians who are part of the Government cannot change, unfortunately, because they are remnants of the old political mentality. Nevertheless, I will personally speak with PM Mickoski in order to communicate our decision clearly and accurately," said Taravari.
