Bekteshi: Energy companies’ requests to raise electricity price by 13 percent unlikely to be accepted
Skopje, 1 June 2023 (MIA) – The price offered by ESM to EVN Home is being assessed at a closed Government session. You will be notified once we receive a request by ESM, but it will be in line with the interests of the citizens and the country as a whole, and the protection of the living standard in our country, said Minister of Economy Kreshnik Bekteshi on Thursday.
According to the Economy Minister, the request of energy companies to increase the price of electricity by 13 percent will probably not be accepted.
“The energy companies requested an increase of 78 percent last year, some even asked for over 100 percent. It doesn’t matter how much they ask for, what matters is how much will be approved by the Energy Regulatory Commission and the price given to the universal supplier, which means that the request of about 13 percent will probably not be accepted,” said Bekteshi in answer to a journalist’s question.
