Skopje, 9 April 2024 (MIA) - The Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services issued a press release Tuesday urging broadcasters to stop airing presidential campaign ads that feature minors and calling on participants in the elections to adjust the content of their ads with the legislation.
As part of its media monitoring, the Agency concluded that campaign ads commissioned by presidential candidates Stevo Pendarovski and Bujar Osmani featured minors
“Those who commission the paid political advertisements are responsible for their content, but the broadcasters are responsible for the legality of the broadcast. Therefore, the broadcasters should immediately stop airing the ads, and the participants in the election campaign should align the contents of their paid political advertisements with the legislation,” the Agency said in the press release.
